Aydan, an Istanbul native, is an artist freshly graduated from the Joffrey Ballet School's BFA program in Music, Dance, and Theater with a concentration in dance.
She grew up as a Turkish Folk and belly dancer. After seeing what's inside the elite Juilliard School in 2013, she was determined to live in NYC as a performer and creative. She went on to received Vaganova ballet training in the top national performing arts school in Türkiye.
By 2018, she got accepted to American Ballet Theater Gillespie School, The Ailey School, Boston Ballet School, National Ballet Academy of Amsterdam, and she continued her studies in the Joffrey Ballet School's Jazz & Contemporary program. At just 13 years old, she was living and dancing in NYC.
She has since then worked with respected names such as Billy Griffin, Gregory Lau, Michael Pena, Jacqulyn Buglisi, and more across a wide array of genres. She also found her passion for musical theater, and performed in productions of "Legally Blonde (Vivienne)," "A Chorus Line (Bobby)", "Addams Family (Pugsley)," "Pippin" and "Hello, Dolly!" working with Ellyn Marsh, Beth Crandall, Marc Dalio, David Vaughn, Andrew Winans, Michelle McConnell and more.
She danced for five seasons with NYC based repertory company, Flight Path Dance Project, and was the resident dance captain and administrative assistant in the company for the 2023-24 season. At Flight Path, she has worked with renouned choreographers like Akira Uchida, Caili Quan, Madi Hicks, Stephanie Martinez, Yusha Sorzano, Michael Trusnovec, Juel D. Lane, Nina Flagg, Jaclyn Walsh and more under the direction of Michael McGowan.
She is the choreographer of the show "They Called Me Rita" starring Nelia McNicol and directed by Lil Malinich, which premiered at the world's biggest one person play festival in the Fall of 2023. Other choreography credits include Mean Girls directed by Kristopher Thompson-Bolden and Maximillien Baud, music video for upcoming EDM/Pop artist Eros Alen, as well as student choreography showcases and solos for students.
She has written short plays for inspiring organizations such as female-led CreateHER and Youth Write Now led by renowned playwright Donja R. Love in partnership with Pride Plays. She was the resident intern for the CreateHER program for their Spring 2024 cohort, and works as a PA in multiple film and stage productions, exposing herself to the behind the scenes of theater and film productions. She is actively writing, directing, and choreographing work for upcoming short and long-term projects.
Aydan strives for what she wants. She desires to be a big voice in entertainment, both as a performer and a creative leader, representing queer, immigrant, and feminist visions aligning with her own.
